The Perrin pulley does not use underdrive. The pulley is just a redesigned lighter version of the stock pulley. Under drive systems are prone to charging and drivability problems, the Perrin pulley will have no effect on your cars charging system. The stock crank pulley weighs 5.7 lbs. and the Perrin Crank pulley weighs only 1.2 lbs this weight reduction effectively equals removing 100 lbs. of your vehicles weight. The Perrin system will not wear out the bearings or oil pump. A gain of around 10+hp can be expected from this Crank Pulley.
