Each one is hand made in the USA using only fine exotic woods from around the world, that include Black Ebony, Black/White Tiger Ebony, ZebraWood, Honduran Rose & PurpleHeart.
The design of the knobs was carefully chosen as being the ideal shape, style & size to promote comfort & performance on the RX-7 & RX-8 shifter. Direct screw-on, each features all steel internal threads & an HR designed & detailed rotor engraved on the top. The polished finish may be left in raw form or may also be clear polyurethane coated for that extra shine. Made from woods that are 100% nontoxic & unlike metal, will not super heat in the sun or burn your skin off after baking in the heat all day. 86-91 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II 3" Aluminum shaft. The 1-piece aluminum driveshaft for the FC RX-7 is lighter than the stock driveshaft, but is also considerbly more torsional. A steel shaft can torsionally twist 5-7 degrees, where an aluminum shaft can twist as much as 15-20 degrees. This means a smoother ride and better response. - Pressure Plate (STANDARD): Increased clamp load over stock. Firm feeling but not overly heavy. Will not prematurely wear out clutch hydraulics. A nice positive feel.
- Pressure Plate (HEAVY DUTY): Increased clamp load over 'standard' plate. Very firm feeling, stiff but still not overly heavy. Will not prematurely wear out clutch hydraulics. A nice solid feel with great feedback. Still useable in minimum stop & go traffic.

This Stage 3 Hyper Single clutch uses a chromoly steel flywheel and a 6-puck disc with cerametallic facing, and a spring center damper. The disc is generally smaller and thinner than the OEM disc making for lower inertia and therefore quicker, easier shifting. The higher clamp load and cerametallic friction facings give approximately twice the holding torque of the OEM clutch and generally higher than other single plate clutches.

For high-powered applications, EXEDY offers Multi plate clutches. These are designed for hot street action as well as drag, road, and rally racing. All of our multi plate clutches come with a lightweight chromoly steel flywheel, and the famous purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. All have T5001 cerametallic friction materials for extreme heat resistance. The multi plate clutches are rated up to 800+ foot pounds of torque at the flywheel. And come with spring damper or solid discs depending on the application.

$873.00EXEDY Racing Flywheels are made from solid one piece billet chromoly steel forgings. They are specifically designed to reduce weight and inertia for better engine response. Most incorporate special design features to enhance air flow to improve the cooling of the clutch. The ring gear teeth are milled onto the flywheel unlike an aluminum flywheel where the ring gear is pressed onto the flywheel and have the possibility of separating from the flywheel.
Not for use with Exedy Hyper single, twin, triple or Carbon clutches. Works with standard steel pressure plate clutches only. (ie, stage 1, stage 2, etc) Requires counter weight solid separately.
NOTE:: This flywheel fits all of the rotary cars listed below. Exedy counterweight part numbers however are listed as fitting both the S4 & S5 TurboII. This is not correct. Only S5 & S6 share the same part number. (use the same rotors) We recommend using a ACT counter weight to insure a properly balanced rotating assembly. See below.
